This article applies only to companies that use Odoo Enterprise and have a paid license with Odoo. 

Electronic Payroll is a requirement that will come into regulation in October 2021, the dates depend on the number of employees depending on the company:

Resolution 000037, the starting date for the electronic payroll service will be August 1, 2021. 

  • Group 1 - Companies with more than 250 employees: September 1, 2021

  • Group 2 - Companies between 100 and 250 employees: October 1, 2021

  • Group 3 - Companies with between 11 and 100 employees: November 1, 2021

  • Group 4 - Companies with up to 10 employees: December 1, 2021

What should be taken into account to implement Electronic Payroll in Odoo.

1. Hosting: Know your hosting, Odoo can be hosted in 3 types of Hosting which are:  Odoo SaaS, Odoo SH, On-Premise. 

Odoo SaaS

- Option 1: If you are on Odoo SaaS and want to have payroll integrated in your Odoo Enterprise version you should ask your Odoo account manager for migration to Odoo SH hosting, which allows you to install payroll modules developed by partners in Colombia, since Odoo SaaS does not allow you to install modules developed by third parties and also by standard Odoo Enterprise lacks some functionalities to settle payroll and will not support e-Payroll.
 

After you have migrated to Odoo SH you can contact an Odoo authorized partner to install and implement Payroll in Odoo. Usually the partners already have advanced Payroll developments to settle and generate in the next months the electronic support document for the payroll.

- Option 2: If for some reason you do not want to have payroll integrated in Odoo, what you can do is to hire an external Payroll software so you can settle and generate the Electronic Payroll. Then you can export an excel or CVS file with the financial accounts and concepts and import it into Odoo accounting. 

- Option 3: In Odoo SaaS you can configure the Payroll settlement with some restrictions in functionality, however it would be integrated with the Odoo accounting natively. For the Electronic Payroll the customer can use the free service offered by the DIAN to generate the electronic document, this is recommended for companies that manage less than 20 employees, in this case you will not incur in costs of Odoo SH or technology provider, only the consulting service for the configuration.
 

Odoo SH u On-Premise

Option 4: If your company is on Odoo SH or On-Premise you already have a step ahead, in this case you can contact an Odoo authorized partner to install and implement Payroll in Odoo. Usually the partners already have advanced Payroll developments to settle and generate in the next months the electronic support document for the payroll.

2. Costs: The costs for implementing Payroll and Electronic Payroll settlement can vary depending on the number of employees to be settled and the number of electronic documents. In general, the following costs are considered when implementing Payroll
